Major Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Plan and manage all activities of the general accounting function to ensure accurate and timely recording and reporting of all financial results in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Lead and manage the entire financial close process, including payroll (position would own ADP payroll processing) and GL transactions, monthly and yearly close, and financial reporting, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, accruals, deferrals, and account reconciliations
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance
- Payroll processing in ADP, including new hires, termination, salary or compensation changes, etc.
- Prepare Federal, State, and local tax filings and payments, including income and sales tax, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations
- Establish, maintain, and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity
- Coordinate and support external and internal audits by providing requested documentation, preparing audit schedules, and resolving audit inquiries promptly
- Mentor team members and assign responsibilities, set performance goals, conduct regular evaluations, and provide constructive feedback
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the Finance & Accounting function
Qualifications
Experience
- Minimum 5 years as an Accounting Supervisor or Accounting Manager, with some experience in the manufacturing industry preferred
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience with payroll processing (ADP or other similar large scale payroll platform) and a basic understanding of wage laws and state regulations
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification strongly preferred
- Knowledge of general accounting practices and principles
- Strong accounting and analytical skills
- Superior Excel skills with the ability to perform calculations with accuracy
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Able to effectively present information and respond to questions timely from management, employees and vendors
- Able to research issues and communicate clearly and timely to Finance management
- Strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Discretion and trustworthiness due to frequent contact with confidential and highly sensitive information
- Requires minimum supervision
Education Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Business Administration-Accounting desirable or equivalent related work experience
This position is based in Milpitas, CA and is an onsite position. The salary range is $110K – $140K based on factors including experience, skills, etc.
